I have not been as present here on my blog as I would like to have been recently. One reason is that I usually forget to photograph things but we did photograph our beautifully sunny beltane walk this week
the sun just made everything feel so Mediterranean even though it was still quite chilly
I love the view across the bay to the mount, the tiny little lump in the distance!
and blue skies!!!
the first caterpillar of the year
a bit of wellie washing because this was the day after the most torrential rain we'd ever seen so it was a little muddy in places!
and that view again (but without the road!
the other reason I am a little absent at the moment and will continue to be throughout the month of May is that I am trying to get my head around prints!!! I love the idea of note cards but also proper prints
So I will be spending quite a lot of May drawing, painting and researching printing and printers and prints!
these will hopefully be very busy and I will try to photograph my progress and pop in here during May just not as frequently as I might like. And those awaiting the next princess, do not worry I have not forgotten her she just might be a little late.

Isn't seeing the sun energizing?? Even if it's still chill outside :).
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful walk.
Good luck with your research.
I love the sun just at that point where you've really had enough of winter but we are back to grey and rain today so I'm holding out for the weekend!

Gorgeous photos! Would love to be able to take a walk near where you live...
ReplyDeleteAn artist friend, who makes lino cut prints, uses a colour laser printer to make cards. The prints are lovely - crisp, clear and with a slight "texture". They almost feel like "real" linocuts.
No idea if the laser option would suit you, but it might be worth considering.
I know there are some very high res. inkjet printers available too. Maybe one of the techie magazine sites would have some comparisons?
Thank you Lizzie but I think a colour laser printer is a little out of my league! I'm looking at professional printers because I don't really like all the computer stuff and getting things straight and even... I'd rather someone else did that side of things.

I love spring, too! On days like this when the sun is somewhat warm for the first time I cant stop smiling.
ReplyDeleteLove your new header! Hope it hasnt been there forever and I just didnt notice it.
Dont worry about the princess. I am only half done with the 2nd one. Had to buy some new colors for her ;-)
Thank you for the header love, I forgot to mention I'd changed it but it hasn't been there long you are most observant :o) I am still not ready with the next princess so I hope you are sewing very slowly!

Gorgeous sounding day and photo's reminding me of that beautiful place we used to live so close to - yes, I remember that 'Mediterranean' feel. I love how your blog is looking, really attractive and makes me want to keep reading. Look forward to seeing your prints x
ReplyDeleteOh it was a beautiful day Fran but not long now and you'll be here too!! It's not so Mediterranean right now! x
DeleteWhat a lovely view/drawing/pens.... all pleasing in different ways ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am trying to blog more regularly too,it's usually months between posts!!! But I've started taking my camera EVERYWHERE, it sits on my desk in the studio to remind me to snap away. So far it's working
