a busy time of the year

Oh there's no way I'm going to be a regular blogger at the moment.  The problem is when I'm busy I have lots to blog about and no time to blog then when I'm not busy I don't have so much to say!

well the girls are all hooped up and ready for embroidering

and I'm busy with Christmas commissions

this photo is just because I'm really pleased with her shoes and legs (patting myself on the back there I think!)

and we've even done Jane Asher's last minute Christmas cake, although I hope my mum doesn't read this post as she patiently typed out her Mary Berry Christmas cake recipe but we ended up leaving it so late that I daren't risk making it, although I have to admit I'm not sure what happens if you don't leave a fruit cake to mature.
As usual when I am busy I have lots of new ideas buzzing around in my head!  The paper dolls are still up there along with fabric dolls and lots more patterns and a bit more Photoshop training with my clever son.  If only there were more hours in the day, days in the week...
I always have lots of crafting plans for January, it means I don't feel low when the quiet of post Christmas finally arrives.  Do you have plans for that post Christmas lull when it's okay to be indoors and crafty?

  2. I know just what you mean about this time of year and so busy, there always seems to be loads going on and loads to be done coming up for Christmas. Your girlies look beautiful and you have done an excellent job of those shoes and legs! I find I leave a lot of crafty things for the new year too, January can be a strange month and its a good time to hide away a little and create x

  3. Her shoes and legs are beautiful, I'm think you should give yourself a pat on the back definitely. I think your girls have their own little personalities because you put so much into them, I can imagine them skipping off the fabric when nobody's looking x

and, i am just the same when it comes to blogging - either busy, and too busy to blog about it, or doing nothing, and don't have anything to say about it! it's good to be erratic. keeps the readers on their toes ;)

  5. Having worked with shoes on Bari J's pattern of Sister Friend...I can see that you have done a wonderful job with those shoes.

It is such a small place to get in so many stitches. You are so right to be proud of yourself.

  6. I do like her sweet little feet! seeing as I've just finished my bird challenge thinking of setting myself a new stitchy one for next year, maybe not so long I didn't expect it to be quite so tricky to juggle. But I guess that's the nature of a challenge - silly me!

  7. I love starting new projects in January as I feel less under pressure and can experiment more.I'm so excited about your paper and fabric dolls as I'm a bit obsessed with dolls lately and can imagine you'll do such a good job of them. The legs and tights are very impressive and if I ever find a 'time turner' like Hermione has in Harry Potter, you can definitely borrow it:)xx
