work in progress, new fabric and vintage pinking shears

Thankyou for all the lovely comments on my folksy friday post and welcome to my new followers, especially Kirsty who is number 100!!
This weekend I've been mostly avoiding doing my final piece of work for my degree by doodling and beginning another tooth fairy cushion.

I'm wondering whether to sell the pattern for this fairy or to sell a tutorial for the tooth fairy cushion.  It's quite a fine drawing so it's single thread embroidery really, that way it ends up looking more like a drawing.

I quite like the black and white effect but she is going to have a fabric appliqued dress.

I do like the drawn effect of sewing with one thread

I've also got some lovely new fabric from fabric rehab
I love red wreath print on the right and the top busy red print and have already used them on a glasses case that's in my folksy shop

and finally, after I don't know how many years, I have bought some pinking shears and they are vintage from here.  They work beautifully and feel so solid, I shall be zigzag cutting everything, beginning with needle books I think (although I will only zigzag the middle pages).  So I must be off now to play with fabric and pinkers :o)  I hope you'll be having as much fun as I will (Is this sad??)
xx

  6. I must give single thread embroidery a try! I think I've been stuck in using 6 or three, thinking 1 would be too thin, but you're right, it looks like drawing or sketching. Next train embroidery, I'm going to give it a go :)
